Obituary of George Mayer

George Mayer, age 88, of Haledon died Thursday, November 19, 2015 at home in Haledon. George was born August 23, 1927 in Bakonjako, Hungary . He is the son of the late George and the late Elizabeth (Rieder) Mayer. He came to the United States in 1950 and settled in Paterson, NJ before moving to Haledon in 1963. He was a Master Cabinet Maker. He was employed as a foreman at Orenstein Fixtures in Passaic for 26 years and for Storebest Corp in Hillside, NJ for 14 years and retired in 1993. He was a parishioner of St. Paul's R.C. Church in Prospect Park, N J and a member of the Haledon Benefit and Social club. He is survived by his wife: Mary (Wittrock) Mayer, his two sons: Kenneth Mayer of Haledon, NJ and Raymond Mayer and his wife Amy of Parker, TX and his two granddaughters, Hope Kincaid and Kathryn Kincaid. He was predeceased by his brother, John Mayer and sister, Elizabeth Gerwald. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:00 am on Monday, November 23 at St. Paul's R.C. Church, 286 Haledon Avenue, Prospect Park, NJ. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa, NJ. Visiting hours will be Sunday, November 22 from 2-6 PM at DeLuccia - Lozito Funeral Home, 265 Belmont Avenue, Haledon, NJ. Please no flowers. Memorial gifts to St. Paul's R.C.
