Obituary of Andrew Mainardi

Andrew Mainardi, Jr. of Franklin Lakes, NJ died peacefully in his sleep Sunday, March 8th at the age of 81 in Palm Springs, California. Mr. Mainardi was born in Paterson, New Jersey on April 24, 1933 to Andrew Mainardi, Sr. and Margaret (Guala) Mainardi. He attended Eastside High School, The University of Pennsylvania and Yale Law School. In 1955, he married Rose Agnes Stough of New Oxford, Pennsylvania. Together with his father and his two brothers, he formed the law firm of Mainardi & Mainardi, which had its offices in Paterson for many years before relocating to Wayne. Along with his family members, Mr. Mainardi was also an active commercial real estate investor. He served as a Municipal Court Judge in Haledon from 1967 until 1977, was an active member of the Indian Trail Club in Franklin Lakes, and a long-time parishioner at Most Blessed Sacrament R.C. Church, also in Franklin Lakes, where he periodically served as a Eucharistic Minister. Mr. Mainardi’s two brothers, Edward and Richard, and sister-in-law Mary Ann predeceased him as did his wife, Rose, who he now joins. He leaves behind his children, Andrew & Priscilla Mainardi of Pompton Plains, Steve and Paula Mainardi of Franklin Lakes, Margaret and Howard Floyd of Lawrenceville, and Chris Mainardi and Judi Davidson of Kinelon, and beloved companion Gayle Thornton. He also leaves behind 11 grand-children and 4 great grand-children. In addition to his home in Franklin Lakes, Mr. Mainardi enjoyed his vacation homes in North Beach, NJ and Palm Springs, CA. The viewing will take place at DeLuccia-Lozito Funeral Home, 265 Belmont Avenue, Haledon, New Jersey on Friday from 2-4 pm & 6-9 pm. The Funeral Mass will be at Most Blessed Sacrament R.C. Church, Franklin Lakes, NJ on Saturday at 10:30 AM. Interment, Christ The King Cemetery, Franklin Lakes. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to the Boys & Girls Club of Paterson and Passaic and the American Diabetes Association.
